Position Summary

The Senior Scientist will join a dynamic Research and Development team to develop and continue scaling Aitia’s powerful Causal AI and simulation platform and apply the platform to develop Gemini Digital Twins for the discovery of novel causal human drug targets and biomarkers and the simulation of drug candidates and clinical trials.  The candidate will work closely with the Engineering Team on implementation of AI algorithms and with the Precision Medicine Team to develop Gemini Digital Twins.   The candidate will develop and implement AI tools for automating priors, for integrating multi-omic data into Aitia’s Digital Twins and for AI to automate extraction of features and novel biology. 

They will communicate scientific findings to partners and collaborators and contribute to presentations at scientific conferences and publications.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive the effort to automate the building of Gemini Digital Twins by incorporating deep learning AI and LLMs into data and prior knowledge pipelines
  • Drive the effort to automate through deep learning AI and LLMs the extraction of novel biology from the Gemini Digital Twins
  • Contribute to cross-team efforts to build in silico patient causal AI models and research into novel model applications for neurodegenerative disorders and oncology therapeutic discovery and development
  • Contribute to novel neurodegeneration and cancer genomics knowledge generation through deep data mining from public/proprietary multimodal datasets.
  • Communicate technical results clearly and concisely to collaborations, discuss how to incorporate information into their processes, and achieve high impact with biopharmaceutical partners

Job qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in quantitative science or Life Science
  • Experience working with advanced ML techniques, probability theory, Bayesian analysis, or causal inference methods preferred
  • Solid understanding of statistical analysis principles and expert user of the statistical data analysis tools, such as Python R/Bioconductor or Python.  
  • Experience working with toolsets for automating AI and machine learning workflows.
  • Experience working with AI stacks such as Torch
  • Experience working with multi-omics data, single cell data, and high-throughput screening data 
  • Must be a team player and willing to help and ask for help; excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills with a proven record of interacting with bench scientists effectively.
