Position Summary

The Director/Vice President of Scientific Value [l1] will be responsible for identifying and articulating the value of our completed client work and scientific results to our external stakeholders for the purpose of deepening our client engagements and attracting new business. The individual in this role will specifically focus on GNS’s platform and solution licensing for biotech and pharmaceutical clients that are developing and commercializing therapeutics for a range of disease areas and patient populations related to precision medicine and research, clinical, commercial development including Health Economics & Outcomes Research, and market access.  The Director/Vice President of Scientific Value will apply his/her strong understanding of how causal machine learning and simulation technology, and artificial intelligence solutions can empower research and commercial teams across drug discovery, clinical, and commercial activities. Working closely with heads of departments, VPs, and C-level leaders in our client organizations, the individual in the position will leverage a scientific, technical, and business background to align GNS solutions with client organizations’ strategic goals. The individual hired should thrive within a fast-paced and exciting team environment at the revolutionary intersection of big data analytics and personalized medicine.

Responsibilities

  • As content expert for GNS, ensure that the scientific, medical, and financial value of GNS’s products are identified and promoted up through the client chain via the Executive Sponsor, Account Manager, and Program Management teams.    
  • Establish deep collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in the client organizations and build upon success of current research engagements to generate future opportunities that leverage GNS solutions within client organizations.
  • Position GNS as a strategic partner across various verticals in client organizations to drive value.
  • Work with clients to understand their strategic goals and objectives and how GNS solutions can address them. Communicate these needs to the internal GNS team in order to develop tailored proposals for solutions.
  • Provide scientific input during the presales process to assist in defining project scope, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Work in tandem with the client delivery team at GNS to ensure ongoing project milestones and deliverables are met. 
  • Communicate client needs not currently served by GNS solutions to the GNS product development team to evaluate and enable development of new solutions, as needed.  Perform market research to understand market opportunity for new solutions.
  • Proactively monitor client relationships to ensure continued high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Success in this role will be measured by the expansion and renewal of contracts for GNS solutions.
  • Travel regularly to meet key client stakeholders to maintain and expand existing services.


Requirements

  • PhD and/or MD required. MBA, a plus. Concentration in a computational discipline preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience producing high-value scientific results in a biotech or pharmaceutical setting leveraging big data analytical to drive decision making preferred.
  • Extensive operational experience in deploying and/or working with technology in the healthcare and HIT environments. Proven experiences with big data/analytics solutions.
  • Experience selling and or managing projects focused on large-scale, integrated scientific research solutions (analytical software coupled with scientific research services) into the marketing, commercial, medical affairs, and health outcomes arms of pharmaceutical and biotech companies in the U.S preferred.
  • Deep domain expertise in one or more major healthcare industry verticals or disease areas is a major plus.
  • Broad and deep network of contacts and prospective clients in relevant markets.
  • Possess a mix of analytical and creative skills to find innovative solutions for clients while providing best-in-class service.
  • A true people leader who can drive operational excellence and act as a customer advocate within internal GNS teams.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with various business units across the Company to ensure successful onboarding of clients.
  • Provision of stellar references from senior managers.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills.
  • Results-oriented with demonstrated ability to leverage internal resources, solve problems, and exercise good judgment and flexibility.
  • Ability to travel 30 - 40% for sales and business development activities.
